Advice on mortgage and home inspection process

Question: > And if you can find a lender who won’t sell your loan before the ink dries, > heavily consider them. My first home loan was sold 5 or 6 times over the > course of about 8 years and it was a royal pain. Then I refinanced through > a local credit union that doesn’t sell their loans and have been very > pleased.

Answer: That sort of depends. We bought last June and our loan has been sold twice. THANK GOD. The first two mortgage companies were real idiots (loved the laserprinted construction paper payment tags from the second one) and we are now with a company that provides a much larger amount of documentation, quarterly updates on %s of loan paid off, etc.

Having your loan sold isn’t always bad.
