Question: I am a first-time homebuyer, intrigued with the idea of getting my home loan > online since the rates I’ve come across are significantly lower than from > lenders in my area. Are there any pitfalls to getting a mortgage this way, > especially the first time?
> Thanks for any advice,
Answer: If you’re a 1st time homebuyer you should look into a program called “Bond Money”. It’s usually below the normal rate, and can even give (yes GIVE … as in FREE) your down payment or a good portion of it. We got $1,600.00 in down payment assistance FREE as a gift from HUD. We also got between a half and a full percentage point off the current rate. Check into it, you’ll be glad you did.
