Question: Some cynical writer once said: “Don’t get romantically involved with men or > women who don’t have their own apartments. Whether we admit it or not, after a > certain age they’re mostly losers and/or guilt-tripping freeloaders. Fastest > way to become an impoverished loser yourself.”
Answer: I completely disagree w/ this theory although I might be one of many exceptions.
Have a perfectly good job but instead of wasting money on an APT (because even in the desert, APTs are expensive) I pay the parental unit $300 + utilities. This has allowed me to purchase my own car (which cost $2 dollars more than the rent but an reliable A&Ber), build up a good savings account & keep my credit perfect for the home loan for my future eco-friendly place.
Staying at home means one’s a loser? I think for some, yeah its bad news and believe me I’ve run into them *shiver*. For me however its been great for staying out of debit normally associated w/ college bound, 40-hr wk Gen Xers.
Feh but folks shall think what they think, right? I’ve learned that impressing myself is far better than trying to live up to other’s cynical thoughts.
