Question: Does anyone know of a good mortgage software program? I would like to >>: > > figure out my monthly payments etc… >I bought a share-ware program called “Amort” from a local discount bookstore >for around $5.00. It’s a spreadsheet that calculates monthly payments >according to whatever loan amount, interest rate, and term you enter.
Answer: I have a spreadsheet file called gauldin.zip that is in my ftp site. When unzipped, it is a Quattro/Excel spreadsheet that not only calculates loan payments and presents a year-by-year amortization schedule, it also has a number of income property analysis functions and loan underwriting functions.
I was once a mortgage banker and the spreadsheet was the one I kept on my computer for rapidly answering questions as they arose in the office. Feel free to download it and use it. It does exactly what you’re asking about.
ftp://ftp.mindspring.com/pub/users/scoundrl and the file to get is gauldin.zip the index for the site is ftp_anno.txt
