Need info on VA, Fed home loan mort corp.

Question: : Are all of these sponsored by their property scources? I asked my : specialist at Freddie Mac (Federal Home Loan Corporation) and she has : no record or knowledge of the “Federal Real Estate Sales” bbs. Is : it privately run and funded?

Answer: Theresa, I maintain The North American Real Estate BBS List and gather the phone numbers from a variety of sources: by contributions from other agents, through net surfing, by examining e-mail messages, and from other BBS lists, etc.

The Federal Real Estate Sales Bulletin Board is maintained and operated by the U. S. General Services Administration (GSA), so I guess it’s publicly funded – you and I pay for it in our taxes. This particular BBS contains information on military base closures, specific property listings from participating government agencies, agency contact information and phone directories and a list of GSA offices.

It’s one of hundreds of real estate oriented BBS available to the general public (but one of the few that can be reached with a toll-free 800 number). If you’d like the entire North American Real Estate BBS List, it’s available for download on THE REAL ESTATE OFFICE BBS at 801-565-9617 (that’s in Salt Lake City) or by anonymous FTP at

Also, if you have full internet capabilities with WWW access, you can call RealtyLinks ™ for hypertext link connections to global real estate WWW sites. The URL is in my signature.
