Desperate Single Mom – PLEASE READ!

Question: I’m a single mother of 2 and would like to find a kind individual to give me a personal loan with interest if necessary. I am stuck in a remote area where there are no jobs closer than 25 miles. I have no car, no money, don’t qualify for assistance because I get a whopping $274 per month for my son, can’t get a loan, have nothing more to sell, no family members or friends to turn to, no money to get a nursing license in this state, and no jobs that I would qualify for except nursing. I have tried EVERYTHING I can think of and this is my last resort. I will be able to make $200 payments each month once I get my license and secure a job. I could possibly do some work as part of repayment as I do have knowledge of MS Office XP, Frontpage, and Quickbooks Pro. I’m willing to provide any documentation, and contact information necessary to the person willing to help me.

Answer: I have no idea if this woman is real or a phony but I am ashamed of all the right wing uncharitable responses I have read in this thread.

If you believe that the request for help is not real or you just don’t want to help, then say nothing. Attacking a person about whom you know nothing is disrecpectful and evil. Why? Her post is totally inappropriate for this group. Why should someone who is too lazy to try to help themself be granted any immunity from criticism? She initiated the conversation with her post and she should be prepared for all responses.

Why don’t you send her a nice large check if you are so concerned? Charity begins in the home, and when she gets off her ass to earn a living, we might be more willing to listen. Most of us work hard for a living, pay a shit load of taxes, and we still have people who want handouts. We’re tired of it.

I’m sure you’ll be writing her a check real soon, right? Be sure to post a picture of the cancelled check for all of us to see.
